Shot Blasting
Shot blasting is our preferred preparation for internal steelwork.
A shot blast surface is prepared using chilled steel grit. The resulting surface is conditioned to the universal standard of finish S.A 2 ½. This removes surface scale to leave a clean grey coloured finish.
Shot blasting is our preferred preparation for internal steelwork that does not require galvanizing. The adhesion of the powder to the metal is excellent.
Shot blasting is the required preparation for hot zinc spray application of zinc. If galvanizing is required to be greater than the standard thickness naturally occurring on architectural steel then shot blasting is required prior to galvanizing.
