Galvanizing standard updated
ISO1461 : 2009, Hot dip galvanized coatings on fabricated iron and steel articles has been updated. The revised standard was re-issued in May 2009.
There are several significant changes including: sampling requirements, renovation materials and coating finish. Information regarding the influence of base metal on a hot dip galvanized coating has been moved to a guidance document ISO 14713-2.
Although these changes will not affect the application of powder coatings to galvanized steel we recommend that you update your technical library. Copies can be obtained from www.bsigroup.com/shop
