Fettling
Fettling is smoothing away of zinc spikes and general surface roughness.
Fettling is carried out before chemical pre-treatment. Fettling plans are produced for each type of component to make sure the finish is appropriate to the application. We use a variety of fettling methods to ensure a smooth finish on flat, round and intricate surfaces.
As with all galvanized surfaces the finish depends on the type of steel and the correct methods of product ventilation. For specific advice go to the Design Tips section.
